Ice Dam Damage
Storm damage can mean many different things. Hurricane damage, hail damage, flood damage, wind damage, and tornado damage to name a few. Up here in the northeast, we are in snow and freezing temperature country. In our neck of the woods, snowstorms and the season long accumulation of snow can be the cause of substantial damage as well. Ice dams, in this particular case, can develop and cause ice to back up on a roof which eventually causes water to intrude into a home. This living room experienced significant water damage to the ceiling walls and flooring due to an ice dam on the room which led to significant water damage to insulation, ceiling tiles, drywall and flooring. Each of these items needed to be removed, the rest of the affected structure was dried and finally cleaned. Be sure to keep the snow cleared from the edge of your roof to help prevent ice damming.
