Here in NH, winter is about over but it’s important to keep in mind the potential for ice dams as they can cause significant and costly damage to your home or business! An ice dam is a ridge of ice that forms at the edge of a roof and keeps melting snow from draining off of the roof. The water that backs up behind the dam can leak into a home or business and cause damage. There are several ways to prevent and deal with ice dams but every home is different– consult a professional as needed.
