Cold and flu season is upon us. To protect you and those you work with, it’s never a bad idea to revisit simple but important ways to stay healthy:
- Eat Your Fruits & Veggies! Having healthy eating habits is one of the key components to warding off illness. Our bodies’ best line of defense against illness starts with the nutrients found in the food we eat. Everything in moderation is key to staying on track and not going overboard on junk food. Cancel your trips to the vending machine by stashing healthy snacks like fresh fruit, trail mix or jerky in the break room or at your desk.
- Drink up. Staying hydrated is one of the most important habits you can have to help protect yourself from illness.
- Bless you! Covering your sneezes and coughs will be greatly appreciated by your co-workers.
- Count to 30. Counting to 30 now and then while washing your hands is a good way to remind yourself to slow down to thoroughly wash your hands. Having clean hands will help cut down on spreading germs.
- Is Daylight Savings Cutting Into Your Workout Time? As the weather grows colder and the days shorter, it’s easy to fall into an exercising rut. The cold months are the perfect time of year for visiting the gym but if that does not appeal to you don’t worry- you don’t have to run on a treadmill to get a workout. Below are some fun ideas to break up the monotony and fit in some exercise at the same time:
- Yoga
- Join a Kickboxing Class
- Join a Bowling League
- Skiing/Snowboarding/Tubing/Sledding
- Ice Skating/Hockey
- Indoor Roller Skating/Roller Blading
Our team hopes you have a healthy and happy holiday season!
